The Ennis Community Children’s School was recently awarded a $5000 Youth Technology Grant by 3 Rivers Communications. The Children’s School has served the town of Ennis since 1982 and provides a safe environment for children to interact, learn and develop social and life skills in preparation for elementary school.
The grant went towards the purchase of a smart board and mobile stand. The smart board will increase student engagement and readies students for how they will learn in the future.
“Smart boards allow children to interact with the learning material,” said Abby Thomas, a member of the school’s board of directors. She added, “Students learn better and remember more.”
Dave Gibson, 3 Rivers’ CEO/GM stated, “Our mission as a member-owned cooperative is to help improve our local communities by funding projects like this, especially when they target youth, while we also work to bring fiber optics to every home and business we serve.”
3 Rivers’ Youth Technology Grant program provides funding for projects that benefit the youth of communities we serve by enhancing access to, or increasing knowledge and use of, technology in specific measurable ways.
