Augusta Chamber Receives Grant

The Augusta Area Chamber of Commerce was recently awarded a $4,000 Community Enhancement Grant by 3 Rivers Communications.

In addition to support local business, the school and other organizations, the Augusta chamber is working on a beautification project for the town. This grant including hanging flower pots around town for the summer. The pots contain a water reservoir to limit the amount of care to keep the plants healthy. The grant will also support an art project in which the Augusta School art department will place painted signs outside local businesses with a common theme promoting the town.

Chamber board member Susan Ford said, “Thank you for the support 3 Rivers has always given to the town of Augusta!”

Dave Gibson, 3 Rivers’ CEO/GM stated, “As 3 Rivers works towards bringing fiber optics to every home and business we serve, we remain committed to giving back to our co-op members by supporting projects like this one in Augusta.”

3 Rivers’ Community Enhancement Grants are awarded to qualifying nonprofit community or civic organizations for permanent projects that benefit their entire community. More information on how to apply for a grant can be found on 3rivers.net under Grants & Sponsorships.
