Sheridan Senior Center Receives Grant

The Sheridan Senior Center was recently awarded a $5,000 Community Enhancement Grant by 3 Rivers Communications.

The Senior Center provides older adults a place to gather for activities and services including nutritious lunches, health education, exercise classes, cultural programs, bingo, cards and more. The grant given by 3 Rivers went towards building an addition to the existing center that includes a multi-purpose room, bathrooms and storage.

Sheridan Senior Center Board President Shirley Ann Sand said, “Previously, we used our dining room for classes, which meant taking down the tables each time we held a class, so you can imagine how nice it is to have a separate room for such activities.”

“3 Rivers is committed to giving back to our co-op members by helping fund projects like this one that supports seniors in Sheridan, while we continue to work towards bringing fiber optic broadband to every home and business we serve,” said Dave Gibson, 3 Rivers’ CEO/GM.

3 Rivers’ Community Enhancement Grants are awarded to qualifying nonprofit community or civic organizations for permanent projects that benefit their entire community. More information on how to apply for a grant can be found on 3rivers.net under Grants & Sponsorships.
