Sheridan Community Charitable Foundation Receives Grant

The Sheridan Community Charitable Foundation was recently awarded a $5,000 Community Enhancement Grant by 3 Rivers Communications to help fund new playground equipment for the Ray Silve Memorial Baseball Park. That grant was matched for an additional $5,000 by CoBank, who’s Sharing Success Program partners with companies like 3 Rivers to support worthy community projects.

The park hosts a variety of events, such as Sheridan Days and a Christmas Stroll. An amphitheater was added in 2022 and there was a need to update the playground equipment to be ADA accessible and make it safer for children to play on.

Sheridan Community Charitable Foundation President Kaylie Theis said, “We want to create better parks in our community so that people, young and old, have a place to enjoy the outdoors, thus helping mental and physical health.”

Dave Gibson, 3 Rivers’ CEO/GM stated, “Part of 3 Rivers mission is to give back to our co-op members by supporting projects like this one, while we continue to work towards bringing fiber broadband to all those we serve. Providing funding for new playground equipment in Sheridan will benefit the community for a long time to come.”

3 Rivers’ Community Enhancement Grants are awarded to qualifying nonprofit community or civic organizations for permanent projects that benefit their entire community. More information on how to apply for a grant can be found on 3rivers.net under Grants & Sponsorships.
