ESPN3.com and WatchESPN
We occasionally get questions from our High Speed Internet customers regarding access to ESPN3.com, which is provided FREE by 3 Rivers to all our High Speed Internet customers. More often than not, the question indicates confusion between the ESPN3 programming and the WatchESPN app.
3 Rivers is not a WatchESPN partner. That is a different service from ESPN3. ESPN3 does not require an app. It simply is available for users who are 3 Rivers Internet subscribers to access from their home computer. ESPN3.com programming is listed separately from WatchESPN programming on the right-hand side of the page that appears when you type ESPN3.com into your browser from your home computer. These are selected games/events, and are not live streams of ESPN TV programming, which is what WatchESPN is.
ACCESS TO ESPN3 PROGRAMMING IS AVAILABLE WITHOUT LOG IN OR PASSWORD WHEN YOU TYPE IN ESPN3.COM IN YOUR BROWSER FROM YOUR HOME COMPUTER, ACCESSED THROUGH 3 RIVERS’ NETWORK. HOWEVER, YOU CAN SET UP A USERNAME AND PASSWORD TO ACCESS ESPN3 PROGRAMMING ON OTHER COMPUTERS, BUT THIS SET UP MUST BE DONE FROM YOUR HOME COMPUTER INITIALLY.
ESPN3 is not available for mobile devices like WatchESPN. Bottom line--these are two different services. 3 Rivers only has the rights to give our Internet customers ESPN3. We do not have the ability to provide our customers access to WatchESPN.
